Suggested increasing the time a visa for Russian tourists in Vietnam

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proposed Prime Minister Russia visa-free visitors from 15 days up to 30 days to facilitate tourist attraction in the Russian market

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just written request to the Prime Minister for consideration and adjustment of visa policy for visitors from the market of the Russian Federation.

Accordingly, the Department proposed visa-free period to 30 days, instead of the current 15 days to facilitate Russian tourists traveling to Vietnam and stays much longer, contribute to improving the performance tourism.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the context of the influence of tensions in the South China Sea in recent years, tourists from China and the Chinese-speaking market decline, the total international tourists decline. The tourism industry is focusing resources to further attract visitors from other markets with large living resources and demand higher spending, especially in the Russian market.

According to statistics from the General Department of Tourism, each Russian tourists spent nearly $ 1,500 for a trip, which costs 610 USD in addition to the tour, 40% higher than the average spending of international tourists.

Previously, in order to create conditions to attract international tourists and on the recommendation of the Ministry, the Prime Minister has decided to exempt visas for citizens unilaterally 7 countries (within 15 days): Japan South Korea (2004), 4 Nordic countries including Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden (2005) and Russia (2009).
